Two birds and one stone

My rides on public transit were prefaced with the question "book or podcast?"  After a full recovery from surgery on both wrists (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome), I am finally back to knitting. Sylvie might get the scarf before winter ends. The other day I pondered how TV watching is an escape for me, since I am not watching the news. So I asked myself, "what would be an equal escape for me?" The answer is knitting. Then it hit me. In knitting my focus is to see the needles, so I don't miss a stitch. In listening to a podcast, my focus is just that, listening. So I plan instead of escaping into a crime drama, to listen to a podcast and knit. Now my transit rides, are question free and filled with books.
