From my grandmother

I opened a book today and found a piece of paper inside. The paper is photocopy of a quote my maternal grandmother wrote down attributed to Kennedy, but no indication as to which Kennedy.

"There are there things which all need: food, humanity and laughter. The first two are beyond our comprehension, so we must do what we can with the third."

My maternal grandmother, Isabel Ehrlich Goodman (aka Mama-G) was college educated, fluent in french, a terrible cook and a lover of Danielle Steele romance novels. When I was 6 or 7, I asked her to call me her little Hershey Bar instead of sweet potato, sugar or sweetie pie. I still laugh at the fact that she listened and did this.
