2020 Top 10

In 2018, I decided to go through all the books I have and pare them down. Also, I decided to have some fun with it. Since I had just watched a few episodes of “Tiny House Living”, I asked myself, “If I lived in a tiny house and could only have ten books, which ten would it be?” Well, for 2021. the list focused on memorabilia, photos, and objects that I have on display around my house.

  1. The plaster handprint that I made in kindergarten

  2. The picture of my sister and I when were kids with our dad camping

  3. The wooden “M” my sister made me one summer at camp

  4. The small velvet and porcelain 3-D floral wall decor from my paternal grandmother’s apartment

  5. Both my parents’ college mugs

  6. The photo of my sister and I as kids in matching outfits (we looked so adorable—not!)

  7. The cereal collage owl Sylvie made in Pre-K

  8. The wooden carved “Love” that belonged to my paternal grandmother

  9. The wooden figure that belonged to my maternal grandparents (there were two but one fell apart and couldn’t be repaired—Boo Hoo!)

  10. The picture of my father at age 5 in an army uniform costume so he could look like his uncle, my great-uncle Bob, serving in WWII.

And some honorable mentions…The picture of all my grandparents from my Bat-Mitzvah, the wooden tulip that my dad helped me make one year as a mother’s day gift (I believe that my sister made one too), and the wooden carved elephants (a mother and baby) that I bought in Africa to remind me of the bond Sylvie and I have.
