The Universe speaks

I had Chinese food recently and received this fortune in my cookie. WTF! At the beginning of the year, I asked myself, “Do I continue my business or shutter it and get a 9-5 job?” I gave myself an ultimatum of sorts, to work on growing my business and if it wasn’t substantial by years end to get a 9-5 job in 2021. Then the pandemic hit. My target audience, working moms with children ages 5-11 (1st through 5th grade) added more to their plate. They became teachers, short-order cooks, and activities directors. Not to mention, they are working remotely. Even my 15 y.o. daughter has interrupted a Zoom. In conclusion, the last thing on their minds is getting their life in order, so the last thing on their minds is working with me. I spent the time reading, attending webinars, and watching videos on personal and professional development. While this is excellent to do, it is not going to bring my clients (yet!). Is the universe telling me to shutter my business? My daughter has advocated that I get a 9-5 job, so maybe this is saying she is right (don’t tell her though). I am back to where I started, asking myself, “do I shutter my business and get a 9-5 job?” I am also asking myself, “do I stick to my ultimatum or extend it for a year?” I have a lot of thinking to do this holiday season beyond deciding on mashed potatoes or stuffing for Thanksgiving.
