Instructions, please.

Recently, I cleaned the drawer/tray where the detergent, bleach, etc. goes for my stackable washing machine. I have had the machine for nearly 4 years, so this was not my first time cleaning it. However, it was the first time that I, by accident, learned the whole tray/drawer removes for easier cleaning in a sink. Really?! Where was this tidbit of information in the manual? Last week, I set out to clean the lid of my favorite travel coffee tumbler. Again not my first time. The lid has a plastic piece that slides back and forth to cover the drinking hole so it is doesn’t spill. No matter how hard I cleaned the lid, there was still a portion under this piece of plastic that I couldn’t get to no matter how I tried. Last week, I decided to soak the lid in vinegar and baking soda, hoping the foaming action would clean the spot. No luck! However, as I was rinsing the lid (and again by accident) I discovered this piece of plastic pops in and out for easy cleaning. Again, really?! I could again ask why this wasn’t in the manual, but the tumbler didn’t come with one. Now, you all must think I am crazy to be “ranting” on about accidentally learning an easier way to clean these two items. At least, I know my mother doesn’t think I am crazy (at least for this). I recently received a lengthy email about how to clean the water tank of my humidifier (we have the same one). After trial and error several times, my mother had figured out how to get the tank as clean as possible from the brown stuff that accumulates on the inside bottom of it. This brown stuff was bothering her as much as the residue under the sliding piece of my coffee tumbler lid. In fact, I was considering buying a new tumbler with a flip piece for easy cleaning and no residue. Thankfully, I don’t have to and therefore I don’t have to give up my favorite tumbler (see photo below) either.

This is my favorite tumbler. Sylvie wanted this souvenir from the show and when she never used it ,I claimed it as my own.
