To the moon and back

I recently returned from a trip doing a group tour. Here are some travel tips I learned…

1.    Planes can be drying, so pack face and body cream to apply while on board. I used a screw-top contact lens case to hold a small amount of each.

2.   If you are staying one night at a place, pack a foldable zipper backpack or tote bag to pack for one night. This way you don’t have to go into your suitcase.

3.    Pack a corkscrew and/or bottle opener. You never know.

4.   Pack laundry detergent sheets if you plan to do laundry. They take up little space and easily go through TSA.

5.    I pack an adapter for foreign plugs plus an adapter that turns one plug into three. This way, I can charge multiple items at once.

6.   If you want to buy a bottle of alcohol, oil, etc. wait to do it at the airport, so you don’t have to check your bag.

7.    Pack a copy of your passport with a passport photo. If you lose it, you can get a new one with your copy and photo at any consulate or embassy.

8.   If you use your phone as your camera, make sure to travel with a power bank.

9.   If you have food allergies, pack your own snacks and sweets so you never go hungry. This is particularly helpful since I have a sweet tooth.

10.   Treat yourself to gifts that you couldn’t find at home. It would be a waste to carry home an item you can get. Also, this way, you have items your friends and family don’t have.

And lastly, remember to have fun.
