My travels...
I recently returned from hiking in the Dolomites (Northern Italy) with my mom. It was a feat for both of us. Being at elevations of 6,000-8,000 feet, walking on limestone gives you time to think, reflect, or just let your mind wander. I did all three.
My mom has wanted to hike the Dolomites ever since, as a kid, she saw pictures and heard her father (my grandfather) talk about going there. I am grateful that she could do the trip and blessed that she invited me to be her travel partner. It was a trip of a lifetime for both of us (see the photo below of us with our guide, Lino).
All that thinking, reflecting, and mind wandering led me to three things, the first of which is taking a break from my blog and…
1. Develop a new format and design for the blog.
2. Concentrate on finishing my book and getting it published for the new year (2026 is just around the corner). The working title is “This is not a parenting manual. This is a resource to help you raise YOUR kid.”
3. To nurture my creative side, something that I have not done enough of in recent years.
A last takeaway from the trip comes from our guide, Lino— ”Sempre Avanti (Always Forward).” This is now my new motto.
