Training time...

The Dolomites

It’s been a while since I have done a health post. Lately, I have been walking, and more walking. As I have mentioned before, I am in training to hike the Dolomites (northern Italy). I have also added two fitness training sessions a week. I have to admit that my motivation is to put my mother— in really-good-shape octogenarian— to shame. I even told her this. More than 25 years ago, I went backpacking in the Rockies with NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) and unfortunately didn’t train properly (I thought I did) and came home after 3 weeks. This time I have made sure not to make the same mistake. My mom asked if I would keep this up after the trip, and I said, “Yes.” I did so because I am most likely in my best shape in the last 10 years. Way to go, me!
