Emotional Eating

I have been an emotional eater for what seems like forever. This was never good for my waist line, so I looked for something else to handle my emotions when they are roller-coasting. I found it in YouTube. While my waist line is happy, my productive self isn't.  I get on YouTube and look up to discover that an hour has gone by in a flash. My emotional state is temporarily better, but like any good emotional cleansing agent, I'll need another dose within 24 hours. So this begs the question, how do I get off this emotional roller coaster in a healthy manner? Shopping is out; sweets are out, and even napping is out. So what is in? Reading never worked, neither did knitting or exercise (the endorphins were never enough). A YouTube detox is in. Wish me luck.
