What's in a saying...

Lately, I feel as though I have been hearing “sayings” when people speak. Recently my 15 y.o. daughter said that when she grows up she will be “worth millions.” What did I hear? I heard “worthy of millions.” Since the pandemic started I have been using my time wisely (I am a time management coach after all) to do my work, run my household, and work on myself. This is also known as personal development. The topic of my July newsletter was lifelong learning and the importance of continuing to learn no matter what age you are. In the article, I refer to myself as an L3, a life long learner. I guess all this personal development has gone to my head. Through this inner reflection, I have learned a lot about myself, my relationships, and how I function in the world. Some of what I’ve learned…

  1. That I have a fear of failure (like most people)

  2. I am a people pleaser

  3. I think outside the box, while I still like to stay physically inside the comfort of the box

  4. My exercise routine is stale

  5. That cleaning can be fun

  6. A mentor in my field would be a great asset to have

  7. That despite my depression, I am leading a full life.

Wow, that’s a lot. So what does this mean? Two things. One, I know more about myself now then I did then the pandemic started. Two, that inner reflection is important to do for taking care of oneself. To this end, I am developing a new program to help busy moms find time for self-care and inner reflection in their lives and recognize that being a “Super Imperfect Mom” is the best superhero to be. I hope our kids recognize this too, especially my daughter.
