Where's the restroom?

This past week I took a short vacation to The Jersey Shore. On my vacation, I noticed among many things that restaurants had signs that bathrooms were for customers only, small cafes and pizza joints had closed their bathrooms altogether. and some places closed their public restrooms. What‘s a girl to do?! After a few near misses, I was pissed. Now, I am not going to rant but instead, provide a workable solution.

The local tourism, local government, and chamber of commerce websites should have a list of the locations of the open public restrooms preferably with a map. In one instance, I googled “public restroom near me” to find one. How is one supposed to enjoy his/her vacation when they are worried about finding a public bathroom when needed. See I come from a long line of women on my mother’s side with small bladders and so knowing where public bathrooms are is a must in my family.

I had already visited this vacation sport o the Jersey Shore many times before, so I knew where the public restrooms were. This is why I got pissed— some were closed and there was no way to know that without sprinting for it and finding it still locked. Thank goodness the boardwalk still has its bathrooms opened.

The only other solution as I see it is to wear incontinence underwear when I travel. Now I know all these closures are the result of the Pandemic and hopefully one day the bathrooms will reopen. In the meantime, unless the websites put up the information, as a 48 y.o. woman, I am seriously considering buying a package of Depends to avoid the possibility of ever wetting my pants while sightseeing, shopping, etc.
